Poem as Structure

In Amy Sorensen's "Write Now", the assignment was to write using a poem as a starting point. The basis of my poem is from Patricia Fargnoli's "Naming My Daughter".  The title of my work is still being tossed.  I enjoyed creating this.

One who prompted weeks of bedrest
One worried over from asthma and infant hernia repair
One with no baby book
Ran to avoid dad’s spanking
Admiral Dewey admirer
Lawn moving entrepreneur
“Hello Please!” Cherry Picker
“Music Man” avoider turned 180 degrees
Two a days, two whoppers and a whaler
Midshipman
Covert airplane relocator
Dedicated Navy officer
XO, war hero
Purposeful decision maker
Tolerates no lies, to cheats, no steals
Morals defender
Antique train and car collector
Hershey trekker
Gentlemen with a harsh growl
Confirmed Bachelor
Eighteen cuts above
Teary groom
Diamond in the rough
Loving Husband
Dedicated Father
James – first disciple
Edgar – godfather’s name, protector of the good
Ducharme – of charm, of course
Our Captain in the Sea of Life
